The Yes/No Formula
In life and in business you have to make ‘yes’ or ‘no’ decisions – I call that the yes/no formula (′maybe′ is the most expensive word). On the road to success there are many people and businesses that didn’t reach their goal, and it’s because the fuel they were using was the word ‘maybe.’
Maybe Is a Bad Word
There are only three decisions that you can make: yes, no, or maybe. ‘Maybe’ is the most expensive one! It’s that simple. As Paolo Coelho has wisely put it, “If you must say yes, say it with an open heart. If you must say no, say it without fear.” But to get to a yes or no answer can be challenging.
If you want an instant shortcut to a yes or no answer, ask yourself these 3 questions:
- Why this? (Whatever your current opportunity is, why exactly this one?
- Why you? (Why is it you who is experiencing it? From what reason is it you who has this opportunity?
- Why now? (Why has that opportunity appeared for you at that point of your life?)
If you feel like you need it, give yourself enough time to answer these powerful questions. They will provide you with clarity. Once you have answered these questions there is no more room for ‘maybe.’
The moment your message is clear, the waves will part, and the road to success will open up.
